Field Service Engineer
Location: Homebased covering Lancashire area / Greater Manchester
Salary: Circa £36k - £40k plus Company Car and over time available
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading retail brand as one of their Field Service Engineers / HVAC Engineers.
Field Service Engineer - Job Role:
This is a home-based role covering the Lancashire area including Great Manchester. You will be in charge of managing your own workload and diary, no fixed working hours, you can start and finish when it suits you as long as you work your allotted 8 hours.
1. Respond to support requests that you will receive via the Whatsapp group or from colleagues.
2. Carry out routine preventative maintenance to avoid down time.
3. Take ownership of work and problems, seeing them through to successful completion.
4. Carry out service visits as per schedules, including D/c Machine and Boiler Annual Services.
5. Assist with installations, refits, and modifications or strip outs.
6. Plan your own day to day workload and prioritise to meet demands of the business.
7. Support your branches where requested to repair other electrical or plumbing works that are within your skill set.
8. Order spare parts within agreed limits.
9. Liaise with the Area Manager / Head Of Technical Support / Chief Engineer when necessary to ensure work is prioritised to meet the needs of the business.
10. Contribute as part of the wider Engineering team to ensure best practice and workload is shared.
11. Provide telephone support to branches relating to minor equipment problems.
12. To display a professional image to colleagues and customers at all times.
Field Service Engineer - Person Requirements:
The ideal candidate must come from a field service based role as an Engineer. You will also have the following skills, qualifications or experience:
1. Hold a recognised engineering qualification such as HNC, HND or BEng.
2. Electrical work (IEE 17th edition or above) preferable.
3. A working knowledge and understanding of 3 phase commercial electricity is essential - including fault finding, testing on these systems.
4. Hold a full UK Driving License.
It would also be beneficial to have the following experience:
1. Natural Gas work (ACOPS registered standard) - appropriate training will be provided if deemed necessary.
2. Refrigeration including Refrigerant Safe Handling.
3. Ideally experience in fixing, servicing and repairing commercial washing machines and dryers.
