Job Details: Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Primary/Secondary SEN School, Rossendale Working Hours: 8:50 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday) Salary: £12.90 - £13.75 Start Date: Immediate start available About the School: This welcoming and nurturing school caters for students with a range of complex needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). Key Responsibilities: Provide support to students with a range of special educational needs, including PMLD, MLD, Autism, and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs Work closely with teachers and other staff to deliver tailored learning plans and interventions for students with complex needs Support students in both individual and group settings to develop academic, social, and emotional skills Assist with personal care and wellbeing where necessary Foster a positive and inclusive environment, helping students build self-esteem and independence Promote positive behaviour and assist in managing challenging situations in a calm and supportive way Collaborate with other professionals, including SENCOs, therapists, and support staff, to ensure the best outcomes for students What We Are Looking For: Previous experience in a support worker, care worker, or similar role, with a desire to work in an educational setting A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN, particularly those with PMLD, MLD, ASD, and SLCN Patience, empathy, and a calm, positive approach to supporting students Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families A flexible and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic and diverse school environment Experience in managing challenging behaviours in a calm and constructive manner is desirable but not essential If you are interested in this position please click apply now and Keira will be intouch within 48hours to discuss next steps.
