Job Responsibility:
Lancaster or Preston - Hybrid working offered after settling in period; 3 days office (Monday, Tuesday and Friday), 2 days home (Wednesday and Thursday). WFH is an option on Friday afternoons also, from 2pm. - £ is Negotiable (depending on experience)
Purpose of the Role
To provide an accurate and high-quality payroll and Auto Enrolment service to clients on a timely basis.
Qualifications and Skills
* Good technical and practical knowledge of Payroll and Auto-Enrolment legislation.
* Good communication skills to enable effective communication with both clients and HMRC.
* Experience of working within a busy payroll environment or bureau.
* Ability to work on own initiative, whilst maintaining departmental procedures.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Methodical and calm, with a focus on solution and problem-solving.
* To maintain the highest standards of personal organisation and time management.
* Have a “can do” attitude and be willing to learn.
* A knowledge of Paycircle or Xero software would be ideal, but not essential.
* Good IT skills (Word, Outlook and, especially, Excel).
Main Responsibilities
* To manage a portfolio of clients, providing payroll and Auto Enrolment pension services from beginning to end.
* Ensuring delivery of a timely and efficient payroll service within the agreed timescales and that compliance deadlines are met.
* To ensure that payroll information is collected in the most efficient manner, timetabling work wherever possible to suit the needs of the client.
* Liaising with clients, HMRC and pension providers on payroll/Auto Enrolment related queries.
* Ability to process payrolls in accordance with departmental procedures and legislation.
* Manage the submission of client payroll data to BACS.
* Understand and deliver compliant Auto Enrolment pension provision to clients and pension providers.
* To support and mentor junior members of the payroll team.
