Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager
Location: Corby – NN17 1XA
Reports to: Company Director, Managing Director, Finance Director, Head of Early Years, Area Support Teams & Nursery Manager.
Salary: £29,835.00 – £32,045.00 per year (Competitive salary dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: 42.5 hours per week
Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 18:00
Company Closures: Statutory Bank Holidays plus one week per calendar year
Key Responsibilities:
* Key Worker Duties: Provide personalised care and education to each child.
* Activity Planning: Develop and implement a range of age-appropriate activities to engage and stimulate children's development.
* High-Quality Teaching: Ensure high standards of teaching, effective staff deployment, and supportive learning environments.
* Assessment and Observation: Collaborate with Area Management to maintain and monitor observation and record-keeping systems, including the Two-Year Progress check.
* Parent Liaison: Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, encourage parental involvement, and organise parent meetings.
* Professional Collaboration: Work with external bodies like Ofsted, Social Services, and other professional groups, ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
* SEN and Child Protection: Support the SEN and Child Protection teams, manage Individual Care Plans, and participate in relevant meetings. Hold a designated role in child protection.
* Record Maintenance: Ensure all records comply with the Statutory Framework for Early Years and update necessary reports and registers.
* Team Collaboration: Develop and oversee long-term, medium-term, and daily curriculum plans, ensuring alignment with the EYFS framework.
* Audit Preparation: Play a key role in ensuring excellent outcomes in internal and external audits.
* Staff Development: Train, support, and mentor colleagues to achieve their best.
Quality and Standards:
* Maintain confidentiality of all information.
* Ensure the nursery environment meets the diverse needs of all children.
* Oversee compliance with all quality and legislative standards.
* Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience in managing high-occupancy nurseries.
* Relevant qualifications (Master's Degree (MA/MEd) in Early Childhood Education/Early Years Education, Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Early Years, Early Years BA Hons Degree, Foundation Degree in Early Years, National BTEC Diploma in Early Years, Diploma in Pre-school Practice, NVQ Level 3, or SVQ).
