About the role:
We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our Additional Support department at The Bedford College Group.
This role is within the Additional Learning Support team that provides support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities undertaking courses across the college from level one to level three.
It is a vibrant team that works across all areas of the college to provide support tailored to students' individual needs.
No two days are the same! One day you may be notetaking within a level three lesson; the next, providing prompts and reassurance to a student within a practical session.

Key responsibilities include:
* Student Support: Providing support to students with SEND on vocational and academic courses, both one-on-one and in small groups.
* Implementation of Support Plans: Working under the direction of the Additional Learning Support Team Leader and class teachers to implement strategies from students' individual support plans.
* Resource Management: Preparing, maintaining, and updating learning resources, and fostering students' independence for their future.
* Progress Monitoring: Developing and tracking progress against students' EHCP outcomes, maintaining records, and contributing to learner reports.
* Team Collaboration and Safeguarding: Mentoring new staff, participating in college events, and promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
About you:
* Qualifications and Knowledge: Level 2 in Maths and English, relevant Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards, and knowledge of SEND.
* Experience: Supporting young people with SEND in educational or care settings, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Skills and Abilities: Contributing to a high-quality learning environment, effective communication, working independently, and maintaining accurate records.
* Team Contribution: Positive and adaptable attitude, making a positive team contribution, and promoting the college's reputation.
* Safeguarding and Flexibility: Commitment to safeguarding, forming appropriate relationships, willingness to work across all sites, and promoting student welfare.
