This client is an established manufacturing company supplying metal components to a variety of industries including the automotive sector. They are looking for an experienced Tooling Engineer to support a busy Progression Press shop in achieving its daily goals.
This position would suit a proven Tooling Engineer or possibly a Toolmaker wanting to make the next move up in his engineering career. The role involves supporting the press setters in trouble shooting issues around progression tooling ranging from 80 tons to 400 ton. Carry out changeovers and small repairs that can be done in the press. The role also involves completing works orders on a computer-based system and leasing with the Toolroom Team Leader daily. When the presses are running you will be expected to carry out repairs and TPM checks on the 80-to-300-ton tooling.
Job Accountabilities: -
The job holder must be reliable and a good timekeeper, as the role is fundamental to the efficient operation of the production department.
The person is expected to work to the Companies Health and Safety procedures and report any Health and Safety issues to the Toolroom Team Leader.
You must be able to work on his own and be able to think for themselves.
Able to support the press setters in trouble shooting issues on progression tooling.
Able to carry out regrinds and repairs on 80-to-300-ton progression tooling.
Carry out TPM checks when required and feed the relevant information back to the Toolroom Team Leader.
Be able to use all standard Toolroom equipment in a safe and professional manner.
You need to be a good communicator and team player and support other members of staff in the toolroom and press shop.
Responsible for completing the relevant tooling notes on a computer-based system and daily work record and discussing any issues found with the Toolroom Team Leader.
Responsible for keeping and inventory of spares that have been used and feeding this back to the Toolroom Team Leader for reordering.
Expected to work over if the need arises due to a tool breakdown or production problems.
Carry out any tasks within the scope and abilities of the above. The Toolroom Team Leader may provide these verbally or in writing, such as expectations or improvement requests.

Assist the Toolroom Team Leader in any task set.
To carry out repairs and regrinds on 80- to -300- ton tools if required.
To carry out TPM inspections on 80-to-200-ton tooling.
To be a team player and support the other Toolmakers and Engineers.
Qualifications: -
A forklift license would be an advantage.
Lifting and slinging qualifications.
Grinding wheel regulations.
Power Press Regulations would be an advantage.
City and Guilds in Toolmaking or NVQ equivalent.
Two shifts are available for you to choose from, Option 1 - 37.5hrs per week on a 10am to 6pm shift Monday to Friday. Option 2 - 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 12.30pm on Friday.
