Stock Controller - Woking Package: £30,000 - £33,000 salary 35 hour week - Monday to Friday Annual bonus in December Twice yearly work party - summer BBQ & Christmas Full training and development plan Alecto Recruitment are working with an industry leading Gas Detection company based in Woking, who are looking to appoint a Stock Controller due to ongoing growth. With an outstanding reputation for quality and engineering excellence, the company provide a one stop shop for the design, manufacture, test, supply, install, commission and service of fixed continuous gas detection equipment and environmental monitoring systems. The Role: The Stock Controller position within this forward-thinking business this is unlike any other, offering a lot of variety and the opportunity to learn additional skills alongside stock control. The main bulk of the role will be to assist the workshop and engineering teams with the building and picking of job orders in the workshop prior to being sent out, completing stock requisition forms, ordering parts and informing the scheduler when jobs are ready to be sent out. You will take full responsibility for goods in, goods out, processing goods, scanning delivery notes and ensuring the entire stock control is up to date as per the stocking systems. However, in addition to stock control, we are looking for someone who can also assist with administrative duties such as management of the vehicle fleet and the engineers training courses/accreditations, as well as the to learning and undertaking more technical duties. 80% of the role will be stock control and Admin. The remaining 20% will be spent on the workbench in the Workshop, where full training is being offered to learn the testing of Fixed Gas Detection equipment. This will be a combination of testing new systems prior to being delivered to site, as well testing and calibrating equipment returned to the workshop by clients or the engineering team to be actioned and sent back out or replaced. Duties will therefore include: Picking orders in the workshop Ordering parts Replenishing stock Managing the stock/inventory via the electronic stocking system Goods in and goods out Liaising with the schedulers/engineering teams with orders ready to go out when stock is in Managing the vehicle fleet - MOT's, Insurance, Tax, Servicing etc Booking external training courses & accreditations for the filed based engineering team Testing of the electronic gas detection equipment in the workshop (full training given) The Candidate: We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a good work ethic willingness to learn either a new skill or expand their existing skills. Full training will be provided in house on product testing, but we are ideally looking for someone with strong stock control/admin skills and a technical mindset, who is happy working with electronics or electrical systems. This role is likely to suit a either an experienced service engineer with strong electronic/electrical skills who is now wanting an office based role and change of pace. Alternatively, someone fresh out of college or university with a background in electronics or electrical, who is looking to start a career but who hasn't necessarily found a job that provides them with a skill and potential career path. We will also consider experience stock controllers who show aptitude to learn the testing or electronic equipment.
