Position: Mechanical Engineers – Anaerobic Digestion
Location: Warwickshire, Oxfordshire or West Midlands with some flexible working
Salary Guide: £55-65k (neg DOE) plus benefits
Our Client: Is committed to decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors by unlocking the full potential of biomethane production in the UK. They create & procure biogas from anaerobic digestion facilities in the UK and upgrades it to biomethane, which is transported using biomethane-powered trucks. The low carbon biomethane will be used as an alternative fuel for vehicles and injected into the gas grid to create renewable heat.
The Role: Our client is developing and building multiple multi-year Contracts and Projects in the UK and is looking for skilled Mechanical Engineers to deliver on these opportunities in Anaerobic Digestion and CNG.
Duties: You will be delivering project tasks and designs, working with the internal team and process contractors/suppliers at various stages in the project life cycle, to deliver projects to specification, within agreed time frames and budget.
Experience: You will have worked within multi-disciplinary teams, coordinated and supported staff, and be proactive in taking ownership of tasks. Our client is looking for enthusiastic problem solvers who enjoy working as part of a developing business.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or similar.
2. Chartered Engineer or close to achieving Chartered status with a recognised Professional Institution.
3. Experience in mechanical design, operation and optimisation, troubleshooting, compliance in Anaerobic Digestion, CNG, liquid organic waste management, and biogas production.
4. Understanding of anaerobic digestion and sludge.
5. Production of mechanical designs and specifications, process calculations, process flow diagrams, and developing specifications.
6. Involvement in process reviews such as HAZOPs and ALM’s.
7. Understanding regulations and guidance for CNG, DSEAR regulations, and Biogas/biomethane technologies.
8. Experience in development of new and emerging technologies.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on working effectively in cross-functional teams.
10. Self-motivated, with good organisational and time management skills.
11. Excellent IT skills; knowledge of CAD and 3D modelling, plus process modelling software tools would be advantageous.
12. Full UK driving licence, prepared for regular UK and occasional overseas travel.
