Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the in-patient therapy team at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. This post provides the opportunity to work in the integrated Medicine therapy team, which currently provides therapy services to a wide range of patients including frail elderly population, cardiology, gastroenterology and general medical patients across both the Sandwell and City Hospital sites. In this role you would be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team on the Medical wards, triaging new admissions to the ward to determine if therapy assessment is required, attending the daily MDT board rounds, and completing comprehensive assessments of patients and creating individual treatment plans to improve patients mobility, increase their function and promote their independence. You will work closely with both occupational therapists and physiotherapists to deliver evidence based patient care, which will be supported by our strong commitment to staff support, clinical supervision and teamwork. The environment is fast paced and therefore requires someone who thrives under this type of pressure and who is flexible and adaptable. You will part of the 7 day working rota covering the hours of 8am to 8pm We would welcome applications from experienced band 3/equivalent physio assistants who are or would be willing to work towards the foundation degree Main duties of the job - Assist in the day to day delivery and organisation of the Service through direct and non-direct patient duties to ensure that priorities are met.
