Part Time Nursery Practitioner
We are currently recruiting for a passionate Nursery Practitioner to join an established busy nursery located north of Kenilworth.
The setting has its own Forest School and a range of extra curriculum activities; including football, yoga, spanish and music.
Salary; £13,260 - £18,650 per annum (pro rata) (depending on experience)
Hours: Part time / Permanent / Mon-Fri / 20 hours
This is a part time position, working 20 hours Monday to Friday, 10am - 2pm / 11am - 3pm.
67 place nursery is proudly rated "Good" by Ofsted, is 30 minutes walking distance from the train station, and has a bus stop nearby.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Deliver the highest care and education standards and ensure secure knowledge and understanding of Policies and Procedures and child development and knowledge of EYFS and Bright Beginning curriculum and regulatory standards.
2. Ensuring internal policies and procedures and legislation from governing bodies are adhered to and demonstrate your knowledge through high standards of practice.
3. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with all stakeholders of the nursery and wider bright horizons community including parent's professionals and colleagues.
4. Ensure Keeping Everyone Safe policies and procedures and continuously and demonstrate behaviours that underpin a high performing safety culture.
5. Working as part of the team to ensure all essential day to day tasks are completed in line with the demands of the area you are working within ie. Hygiene standards and room preparation.
6. Understand the referral processes when necessary to engage with professionals to support a child referral.
7. Actively promote and support charities.
8. Attend staff meetings and training to ensure a continuation of personal professional development to ensure your knowledge and skills are up to date, full, and relevant to the role of Nursery Assistant.
Responsible for:
9. Promote and follow guidelines implemented for managing behaviour including and supporting children to manage their own feelings.
10. You have the responsibility to ensure the children you care for are fully supervised and remain safe and well and you lead by example and drive the culture of Safeguarding Children.
11. Providing strong clear communication and partnership with your team members to ensure you are meeting the needs of all of the children within your care.
12. Demonstrate a clear understanding of efficient staff deployment and child supervision in line policies and procedures and with regulatory standards.
13. Supervise and support in the preparation of meal times in line with policies and procedures to ensure high supervision of children is maintained at all times.
14. Risk assessing all areas a child can access to ensure all areas of the nursery are safe for children and remove any risks identified. Lead by example in daily tasks of keeping children safe ie. picking up coats, sweeping sand from the floor.
15. Undertake suitable professional development activities and opportunities for personal growth within a culture of self-driven development and expertise in all aspects of nursery development and learning, to maintain a highly effective, motivation and an innovative team member with perspectives of 'best practice'.
16. Delivery of highest quality Early Childhood practice and experiences for all children in the setting, including those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability, promoting emotional wellbeing by embedding our early years curriculum.
17. Fulfil their roles, responsibilities and legislation duty in relation to safeguarding children by ensure that they have read understood and implement the Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
18. Ensure that they have completed Child Protection training every two years as set out in the Child Protection Policy and that this training impacts on their ability to safeguard the children in their care
19. Highly motivated and driven, meeting deadlines for children's record keeping and assessments
20. Completing accurate and effective assessments, which reflect the needs, interests and stages of development of the child by effective delivery of the key person approach.
21. Undertake regular 121 meetings with families' colleagues and professionals to ensure children within your key person group are meeting their milestones for personal development. To provide support for your colleagues within the nursery and across the broader business when required.
22. Attendance at staff meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
Essential Experience:
23. Work experience within the Early Years Sector
24. Current 12hrs paediatric First Aid Certificate
25. Experience as a key person
26. Knowledge of the early year's curriculum and regulatory requirement.
27. Proven ability to work as part of team to ensure essential day to day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands ie. Hygiene standards and room preparation.
28. Experience of food preparation and the completion of relevant training linked to food management
29. Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding children.
30. Specific Experience of working within the 0-2years age group in accordance with the regulatory requirements if required
31. Desire and passion for ongoing learning and personal development
Experience Desirable:
32. Knowledge of Local Authority and Regulatory requirements and inspection processes across the UK
33. Working within policies, procedures, and regulatory requirement.
Qualifications:
34. 12 hours paediatric first aid (Can be completed as part of induction)
35. Food Hygiene or equivalent training and compliance in food management (Can be completed as part of induction)
36. Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly (essential)

37. Able to communicate clearly with adults and children using a variety of techniques (oral and in writing)
38. Ability to support and inspire children in achieving the highest standards of care and education.
39. Able to manage workload and manage time effectively
40. Able and competent user of company ICT systems and have the willingness to learn and develop ICT skills
