Internationally successful: The Wienerberger Group Come and join us as a Research and Development Technician at our Kingsbury site in Tamworth As Research and Development Technician you will support the growth of the R & D function within Wienerberger Ltd, characterising new and innovative raw materials for use in the production of construction products, including bricks, blocks and roof tiles. You will also work closely with Universities and other institutions on funded R & D projects. In this role you will also: investigate and evaluate materials and processes which may be used to reduce the embodied carbon of construction products coordinate and lead Research & Development projects liaise with colleagues throughout the business to ensure Wienerberger achieves its ambitious carbon reduction target help to develop a decarbonisation programme to reach net-zero carbon emissions before 2050 Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm You will have an academic background in chemistry, material science, concrete technology, ceramic technology, engineering or a related field, and be passionate about reducing carbon emissions and producing sustainable construction materials. You will also have: strong communication skills and an ability to produce scientific documents excellent presentation skills with the ability to present the results and recommendations from an R & D project to a wide and varied audience experience of working in a laboratory environment knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing procedures basic understanding of different types of raw materials used in the production of clay bricks/ roof tiles and concrete tiles.
