Here you’ll get to:
1. Deliver strategic, proactive publicity for Fremantle UK programming, generating widespread and favourable coverage.
2. Continually look for creative and innovative ways to increase positive coverage for our shows.
3. Organise and manage press days/launches/events/photo shoots/briefings with key talent.
4. Develop and maintain relationships with key media and other contacts.
5. Oversee unit photography and delivery of stills/picture packages, liaising closely with ITV Pictures and our picture agency.
6. Work collaboratively with colleagues in the social media and digital teams, ensuring all external communications is co-ordinated and cohesive.
7. Issues management – spotting potentially negative issues and preparing for them; reacting quickly to issues as they occur and dealing with them in an effective and timely manner.
8. Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with all production personnel, stakeholders, talent, agents and PRs.
9. Help with the development of junior members of the team, ensuring high standards are met across all aspects of the team’s work.
10. Help manage relationships with commercial partners and oversee their promotional activity relating to their sponsorship of the shows.
We’re looking for:
1. An excellent news sense with the ability to spot and generate news stories, along with a strong understanding of the news gathering process in the written press, as well as radio and television.
2. Proven record of achievement in press and public relations - with over significant experience, ideally in TV, and demonstrable successes in the delivery of high profile, proactive publicity campaigns.
3. Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written and the ability to deal effectively with a range of different people (stakeholders, production, media, talent).
4. Crisis management/reputation management skills – proven experience of dealing with high profile issues and using sound editorial judgement.
5. Proven creativity – trying out new ideas/ways of thinking and an appetite to produce and try out new ideas and ways of securing favourable publicity.
6. Excellent organisational and planning skills.
7. The ability to work effectively under high pressure and in changing circumstances, ensuring that a high standard of work and editorial judgement is maintained.
8. Proven contacts across the media, especially with TV Editors/Showbiz Editors and writers.
9. Good working knowledge of the media industry and the TV production process.
10. Experience of managing high profile talent and building effective working relationships.
11. Experience of organising and managing press events and launches.
12. Excellent IT skills.
13. Knowledge and passion for Britain’s Got Talent, The Greatest Dancer and The X Factor and an understanding of the press and other media’s coverage of these shows.
14. Able to work out of hours/weekends as and when needed. The role will require regular out of hours work across the year when the shows are on air and during filming periods.
