We offer funded places on a variety of continuing professional development courses from external accredited paediatric critical care course, APLS and AIMs, whilst also providing in-house training and a personalised development program.

We offer opportunities for development within our Surgical Day Case Unit, Paediatric Assessment Unit, Paediatric High Dependency Unit, and Paediatric Ward. Within Treehouse, we have 2 clinical educators that will provide a personalised development program to support you in achieving your career goals.
Treehouse consists of 20 acute paediatric beds, 8 paediatric assessment beds, 4 surgical day case beds, and 2 PHDU beds, caring for children and young people with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions. Specialist nursing teams are available to support this care delivery, including a Mental Health Practice Educator who also provides supervision and bespoke training.
Main duties of the job
As a staff nurse on paediatrics, you will be expected to deliver compassionate, safe, high-quality care for children of all ages within our large unit. Our service covers specialist inpatient services such as paediatric critical care level 2, paediatric surgery, and a paediatric assessment unit.
You should be enthusiastic, motivated with good interpersonal skills, and able to problem-solve and prioritise during periods of pressure.
In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, you will be required to deliver and supervise patient care for the clinical area, ensuring assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of a high standard of care.
Working in conjunction with the team to deliver safe patient and family-centred care within a challenging and changing clinical environment. You will provide leadership by supporting junior nurses and students whilst also taking charge of the ward unit when required.

Responsibility for Patient Care
* Assessing the individual's care needs, developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care to meet needs of patients and undertake all forms of care within the clinical environment.
* Working in partnership with relatives and carers to develop and implement/improve standards of patient care.
* Liaising with staff from multi-disciplines in matters relating to patient care and equipment relevant to nursing care.
* Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation ensuring confidentiality.
* To uphold the Trust's dignity and respect standards.
* Ensure that nursing care is appropriate, provided, and is consistent with clinical guidelines.
* Using professional judgements is able to analyse a range of patient conditions and act appropriately.
* Maintaining high standards of patient care by personal example and professional conduct.

If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition to this, it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.

Education & Qualifications
* Current 1st level UK Registration RSCN or RN(child)
* Preparation for Mentorship certificate or experience as a student assessor/supervisor.
* Relevant post-registration course appropriate to the clinical area
Experience
* Experience of working in paediatric clinical areas
* Experience of delivering paediatric patient care
* Experience of supervising others
Knowledge
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
