Electrical Qualified Supervisor / Electrical Project Manager
My client is a Fire & Security Company based out of their office in Essex.
They employ over 200 staff across 4 offices and are part of a larger group of companies.
They are seeking an Electrical Qualified Supervisor/Electrical Project Manager to join their team and work on a specific Housing Association contract with an extensive presence in Southeast London, as well as sites in North London, Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire & Berkshire. Regular travel to SE London will be required, along with other travel throughout the South East.
Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will be running a team of 4 directly employed electricians (+ Sub Contractors).
THE JOB - ELECTRICAL QUALIFIED SUPERVISOR / ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER
Monday - Friday / 8.30am - 05.00pm
You will head up the overall running of an electrical team installing fire-related electrical work primarily for a Housing Association.
You will be directly responsible for the delivery of fire-related electrical work (Emergency Lights, Mains operated Smoke & Heat Detectors) via the effective management of a small team of directly employed Electricians, Electrical Improvers, and Sub-Contractors.
Responsibilities will be varied as detailed below to ensure the efficient running of the team and compliance with mandatory NICEIC requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Managing incoming work to ensure each job has a projected completion date
2. Carrying out electrical surveys in advance of work to ascertain the labour and materials required for each job
3. Monthly revenue forecasting
4. Preparation and valuation of invoicing applications created from an agreed schedule of rates
5. Identification and notification of variations
6. Negotiation of subcontractor works if required
7. Ensuring all paperwork associated with previous weeks' work is completed and passed to the administration team
8. Management of small stores/lock up in SE London to ensure stock is accounted for and booked out to jobs in a timely manner
9. Implementing and maintaining company policy on Health & Safety
10. Responsibility for complying with and implementing the Q&E management system within their area of activity
11. Any other relevant duties as assigned by the line manager
Key Performance Areas:
1. Managing workflow
2. Weekly review of timesheets
3. Reporting issues to senior management
4. Evaluating performance and providing feedback
5. Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
Essential:
1. Extensive experience of electrical installations
2. Fully qualified 18th edition electrician
3. City & Guilds Inspection & Testing certificate
4. Hands-on experience of electrical inspection and testing
5. Experience with Health & Safety requirements associated with the quoted works
6. Translating experience and knowledge of electrical systems to assist with the quoting process
7. Competent IT skills (including Outlook, Excel & Word)
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
1. Fire industry experience with Emergency Lighting and mains operated smoke & heat detectors would be an advantage
