Senior Locally Employed Doctor with an Interest in Pain Medicine
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
This post offers a wide range of experience and training opportunities related to pre-operative assessment (POA) and peri-operative medicine (POM).
The role will combine working alongside and supporting consultant anaesthetists within theatre and the cardiac and general intensive care units along with providing an on-call anaesthetic service on a full shift basis on an EWTD compliant rota. You will be supported to undertake appropriate solo theatre lists depending on experience and training requirements.
The successful candidate will be able to attend and contribute to the dedicated pre-operative assessment services the anaesthetic dept. provides to support a number of surgical specialities (including vascular, gynae oncology and eye surgery). There will be opportunities to attend and contribute to ortho-geriatrician liaison ward rounds.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for a full time Locally Employed Doctor in Anaesthesia to provide on-call cover and elective theatre cover at Trafford General Hospital.
The TGH High Dependency Unit is located within the main building of Trafford General Hospital. As stated above, there are 3 beds and provisions for 24-hour Consultant cover. There are typically 2 planned admissions per day in the week and approximately 40 emergency admissions per year. A proportion of these will be transferred to MRI at an appropriate time.
The successful candidate will join a large consultant-lead medical workforce with 100+ Consultants and 35+ doctors in training/Fellows across the Oxford Road Campus site.
Candidates that are non-GMC registered at the point of application will be considered for this position, under the Trusts International Fellowship Scheme (please note, there is a £500 admin charge for this scheme).
