Our Patient Solutions Team are proud to provide the wheelchair and specialist seating service on behalf of the NHS in Northampton and Kettering. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Wheelchair Technician to join our team. The role As Wheelchair Technician, you will coordinate storehouse activities, complete wheelchair repairs and work in clinics to set up/ modify wheelchairs. Key duties. Supporting Wheelchair Therapists in technical assessments and interventions. Performing wheelchair demonstrations for service patients and assist ing with powered wheelchair annual reviews. Delivering and setting up equipment at clinics, patients' homes, and providing training. Assisting the Special Seating Engineers/therapists with wheelchair modifications. Completing first-level fault diagnosis and repairs, preventative maintenance on manual and powered wheelchairs. Fitting supplier accessories and modifications to both powered and manual wheelchairs as. Refurbishing and repairing wheelchairs to meet original manufacturer specifications and quality standards. Assist ing clinical teams in carrying out complex assessments and modifications, including adjustments for posture and seating needs. Overseeing stock management of wheelchairs and accessories and managing receipt of new orders. Covering out of hours repairs on a rota basis. What are we looking for? Key skills HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Previous experience in an engineering role. Practical skills in problem identification and solving. Strong interpersonal and communications skills. High attention to detail. Willingness to travel Full UK licence. What can we offer you?
