We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join the Pharmacy Technical Services Unit! The Pharmacy Technical Services Unit comprises the Aseptic unit, Radiopharmacy unit, and Cytotoxic unit. Supervised by the senior technician in charge, the post holder will provide support services to the Pharmacy Technical Services department, including the ordering, receipt, storage, and supply of Pharmaceuticals and other stocks, and the manufacture of aseptic products in both the aseptic and cytotoxic unit. This person will also assist senior staff with support duties (such as cleaning aseptic rooms) essential to the smooth functioning of the unit.
Early and late finishes, cross-site working, and participation in weekend and bank holiday working are required.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
1. NVQ level 2 for Pharmacy Assistants, or ability to attain competence in NVQ level 2, modules over a period of training.
2. Good understanding of basic Maths and English.
3. Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Experience Essential
1. At least 6 months work experience that required understanding and adherence to set standard operating work policies and procedures.
Desirable
1. Aseptic Compounding experience or background knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice.
2. Worked within a team.
