Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work full-time based for an Independent Fostering Agency in Bexleyheath.
The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £42,000 per annum.
Main duties:
* Manage a caseload within the framework of supervision to effectively meet the needs of children and foster carers in line with national minimum standards.
* Ensure that information systems and records are effectively maintained to provide up-to-date and accurate information upon which decisions can be made.
* Maintain a personal awareness of legislation, agency policies, and procedures, acting in line with these to ensure a high quality of service delivery.
* Attend regular training and compile a portfolio to evidence CPD in line with the professional capabilities framework.
* Provide the agency with high-quality assessments of backup carers, long-term matching, and appropriate assessments within the role.
* Visit foster carers every two to four weeks and provide appropriate support to 12/13 families & complete timely monthly reports and upload to the database.
* Undertake annual review meetings and complete a report for the annual review of foster carers and present it to the fostering panel.
* Attend and participate in case conferences, reviews, planning meetings, and any other meetings that may be required and represent the independent fostering agency at such meetings.
* Liaise and consult with others involved in the care of the child.
* Prepare for and undertake monthly visits to foster carers and complete monthly reports and risk assessments as required by the agency, Local Authorities, and the courts.
* Advise children and young people of their rights and assist them in implementing the complaints procedure as necessary.
* Work flexibly to accommodate the needs of the panel, support groups, and out-of-hours work as required.
* Undertake any other duties which may be appropriate depending upon the post holder’s expertise, knowledge, experience, and skills, in keeping with the level of responsibility afforded.
Requirements of this role:
* A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
* Understanding, knowledge, and ability to follow guidelines to ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work, Data Protection, and other statutory requirements.
* This post requires registration with the relevant health professional council/governing body (Social Care England).
