Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor/Manager to oversee and optimize our clients logistics operations. This role is critical in replacing a long-serving team member who is set to retire. The role has been redefined to meet the evolving needs of their business, and we are looking for a candidate who can step in.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily logistics operations, ensuring efficient coordination and timely delivery of goods.
2. Lead, train, and develop the logistics team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
3. Identify and implement improvements in logistics processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
4. Monitor inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet customer demand without overstocking.
5. Work closely with suppliers to manage inbound logistics, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials.
6. Provide hands-on assistance within warehousing and stores areas when required.
7. Ensure all logistics activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
8. Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, including key metrics such as delivery times, costs, and inventory levels.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in logistics, with a track record of successful management or supervisory roles.
2. Strong understanding of logistics operations, including inventory management, supplier coordination, and process improvement.
3. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
