InstaStaff are currently recruiting for an Engineering Operative to join a mechanical engineering company based in West Bromwich. This is such a great opportunity for a candidate to progress and grow with an established, leading engineering company. You will be working over 3 areas, the workshop, assembly and stores, and will be supporting experienced Mechanical Fitters and the Stores Manager. Full training will be given and for the right candidate, with the opportunity to become a fully qualified Mechanical Fitter. The ideal candidate must have had some sort of experience within engineering and building of mechanical parts. The duties of the Engineering Operative will include: Maintain order and tidiness both outside and inside the manufacturing facility. Assist where required in the dismantling, cleaning and re-assembly of equipment returned for refurbishment work. Complete any relevant in-house training to be conducted within the Company’s premises and workshops. Attend external training as necessary. Assist stores staff with loading and offloading of goods and equipment arriving or leaving the premises and assemble parts for use in production department when required. Fitting and assembly skills including the use of hand tools and marking out. Undertake pipefitting including flanged and screw joints. Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings is preferable. Training can be provided. Perform all work in accordance with established company safety procedures. Establish strong relationships within the department. The ideal Engineering Operative will have: Previous experience of working within an engineering environment A full UK driving licence A good understanding of spoken and written English The hours of the Engineering Operative are Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4pm and you will finish at 1pm on a Friday. The salary for the Engineering Operative role will be circa £25,000
