The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for Water Safety to ensure that the Trusts are compliant with all current legislation relevant to maintaining safe water systems across all hospital buildings. The role will involve aiding with ensuring that all risk assessments are undertaken and kept up to date; auditing contractors working on site to ensure they are completing tasks safely and to a high standard, while following the correct method statements. Other key responsibilities will include :
* Supervisor responsible for Mechanical Services Water at the Greater Peterborough Health Improvement PFI including the supervision and performance of the Engineers and Maintenance Team.
* Responsible for providing expertise and support to Multiplex and the Mechanical Services Manager and liaise and work with the Fabric and Mechanical Services Supervisors in the delivery of the hard facilities management service.
* Ensuring that both current and new employees training is kept up to date and in-line with current guidelines.
* Supporting both Trust and Multiplex Authorising Engineers (Water) in completing audits as defined within Multiplex procedures and Trust Water Safety Plan.
Extensive experience working in a similar role in a healthcare environment.
* Understanding of Borehole management.
* Understanding of hot and cold-water systems in large complex buildings.
* Good knowledge of L8 and HSG 274 parts 1-3.
* Understanding of water sampling procedures
