Urban Designer Job in Leeds, Yorkshire
Urban Designer job available with a consultancy that has an ambitious 3-year growth plan and a robust project pipeline across residential, renewable energy, and community sectors. Role & Responsibilities
1. Develop masterplans for projects of varying sizes, from concept through outline and reserved matters planning applications.
2. Take a lead role in the management of projects.
3. Working on large-scale masterplans and residential layout design primarily and other complex projects across various sectors.
4. Create strategic documents, such as vision statements and design codes, to guide and protect project development.
5. Work directly with clients.
6. Collaborate with the Urbanism team and manage small teams, while also working independently.
Required Skills & Experience
1. Qualifications: Degree, Masters, or Diploma in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field within the Built Environment.
2. Possess a minimum of 2 years of UK project experience.
3. Prior experience in private practice, consultancy, or commercial housebuilding; detailed design/RMA experience preferred.
4. Proficiency in CAD software; knowledge of Vector Works and/or SketchUp is a plus.
5. Familiarity with local authority guidelines and planning systems.
6. Self-driven, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
