Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Leeds Contract Type: Long and short Term Leader Education are recruiting experienced SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in one of our schools in Leeds specialising in supporting students aged 4 - 17 years old with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Students in this school may have been permanently excluded from their past school and may present some challenging behaviours so the ideal candidate will have some experience working alongside children with SEMH needs. This role will be mixed of both 1-1 and small group support. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, hours may slightly differ. The successful candidate will have: Experience working with children or young people with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and challenging behaviours. Be able to reliably commute to work via Public transport or personal vehicle. A patient, nurturing approach to supporting students with a wide range of abilities and needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other support staff. Be approachable and nurturing. The ability to adapt and respond to the dynamic and individual needs of students. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
