This role has a starting salary of £32,512 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

About the Role
Join our Countryside Access team within the Environment, Infrastructure, and Growth Directorate. We manage nearly 2,200 miles of public rights of way, focusing on maintenance, enforcement, improvement, and promoting countryside access and biodiversity.
As a Countryside Access Assistant, you'll be at the heart of our efforts to keep Surrey's countryside accessible and enjoyable for everyone. You'll handle maintenance and inspections, liaise with the public and landholders, and work with contractors, user groups, external agencies, and volunteers.

* Organisation and flexibility: An ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload
* Passionate about the outdoors: Enthusiasm for rights of way and countryside access
* Hands-on approach: An interest in practical maintenance and countryside management techniques.
* Resilience: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather and sometimes challenging terrain
* Adaptability: A willingness to work weekends and evenings occasionally

Surrey has both urban and rural areas and as such you will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area for this role.
