Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance orientated analyst to join a dynamic finance team supporting the Next business. Located within our Leicestershire Head Office, our Cash Accounting team is responsible for delivering finance support to key stakeholders across the business for a variety of purposes including:
* Producing insightful reporting for key Business Stakeholders
* Cash flow monitoring and 3rd party management
* Analysis of new payment options performance
* Supporting the onboarding of new Next Total Platform partners
About You
Next is a dynamic and fast growing business, to succeed in this role you must be happy in a fast-moving, fluid, ever-changing environment. You will need great data analysis skills, coupled with the ability to clearly present information for Key Stakeholders.
You will be at the heart of understanding the impact of our payment options on customers, sales and profitability.
The successful candidate will support both the team and wider stakeholders by interpreting large complex data to drive business decisions.
1. Data Handling
* Ensure accuracy and consistency of data used in analysis
* Work with the wider teams on Gold Standard Data
* Automate reporting, whilst continuing to maintain validation checks
2. Payment Optimisation
* Proactively monitoring and analysing all payment accept / conversion rate across all stores and over 70 websites
* Review any new payment or partner launch and provide data to support profitability analysis
* Obtain ad hoc data sets to aid investigation and trend analysis
3. Analysis and reporting
* Review core weekly MI and flag any issues
* Deliver Giftcard analysis to support commercial review
* Provide detailed monthly payment fee analysis to drive accurate forecasting and inform strategic marketing
* Liaise with external auditors on automated revenue testing
* Support the team and wider business with any ad hoc data requirements
What we are looking for
* Advanced Excel skills, including Power Pivot and Power Query and ability to manage complex datasets
* Proficient in SQL and experienced with SSMS and Data Bricks
* Experience with Power BI and or Google sheets / slides is desirable but not essential
* Ability to provide concise and insightful data to drive business decisions
* Great communication skills, able to present information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* The ability to plan and prioritise to hit strict deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality
* Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think outside the box
* Ability to self motivate in a fast pace challenging and demanding environment with changing priorities
