Based at our office in Oxford, you will play a very important role to help develop and expand the Health and Safety team with new and existing opportunities. Working on a wide variety of prestigious and unique projects delivering innovative solutions for our clients. As a Health and Safety Manager at Ridge, you will be exposed to many sectors and many cultures. Supporting the delivery of the projects you will be developing and implementing health and safety plans, enforcing policies, and evaluating practices and facilities to ensure compliance with legal guidelines. You will also be required to conduct training sessions, monitor compliance, investigate accidents, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Duties
1. Provide strategic advice on developing and implementing their health and safety policy along with structured and comprehensive risk management systems at any stage of construction projects or infrastructure projects.
2. Manage and maintain accreditation and H&S office audit.
3. Manage and maintain and continuously improve Ridge H&S policy.
4. Engagement with SLT on H&S matters.
5. Regular interactive CPD lunch and learn for H&S relevant topics.
6. Provide and maintain induction training and other relevant H&S training.
7. Provide H&S updates to the business.
8. Maintain the internal H&S comms plan.
9. Provide H&S advice to staff/business.
10. Manage H&S companywide budget.
11. Engage with the business on risk profile and align H&S management systems.
12. Develop assurance scheme for the offices.
13. Facilities contractor management - PQQ, RAMS review, etc.
14. Engage and develop the H&S awareness of Office H&S representatives and OMPs.
Experience of implementing a management system in an organisation
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
1. Hold at least Technical Membership with IOSH and be working towards Chartered status.
2. NEBOSH General Certificate is essential.
3. NVQ 5 H&S or NEBOSH Diploma is preferred.
4. Have a very good understanding of risk management and hazard identification.
5. Excellent organisation, communication and time management skills to match Client and Company expectations.
6. Good analytical, communication & presentational skills with proven ability to work as an individual, and lead or work as a team member are required whilst also demonstrating managerial experience in directing remote teams, setting goals and objectives, and delivery of key targets.
Key to the role delivery will be:
1. Maintaining the H&S culture within the business, implementation of H&S policy, standards and procedures for Ridge.
2. Assist with maintenance of the Ridge H&S MS and associated documents with the support of our existing H&S and QA team.
3. Promoting H&S awareness and ensuring consistency of approach across Ridge whilst overseeing H&S incident investigation process in Ridge and other relevant areas.
4. Collection, collation, reporting and analysis of Ridge H&S data at group Operation board meetings.
5. Provide insights using H&S data trends and required actions.
6. Maintain an overview of industry developments in the H&S field help develop H&S governance activities associated with Ridge, including audits of Ridge offices and the H&S management system.
