Job Description:
We’re looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Waking Night Support Worker to join our Felstead Street service in Hackney.
Salary: £, per annum, working hours per week.

As a Waking Night Mental Health Support Worker, you will play an integral role as a part of the team by offering continuity of care and support in every aspect of residents' needs in line with individual support and risk management plans, such as medication administration, emotional support, regular welfare checks, and personal care.
You will be responsible for maintaining security and health & safety throughout the night with your colleague to ensure a safe living environment. You will also have infection control duties and domestic tasks.
Case work management is not included; however, you will be required to monitor residents' mental and physical wellbeing during the shift and communicate outcomes to the day shift and management.
What you’ll do:
1. Build supportive, trusting relationships with customers and create a positive atmosphere in the home.
2. Follow lone working protocols and maintain high levels of health and safety for self, colleagues, and customers.
3. Support customers to maintain a safe, healthy, and hygienic living environment.
4. Provide emotional support and assistance to customers overnight who may be experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
5. Support customers with daily living activities, including practical assistance during the night.
6. Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community.
7. Manage petty cash during the shift.
8. Maintain fire safety and health & safety at night, managing arising issues in line with local protocols and Look Ahead policies.
9. Empower customers to ensure they receive the services and benefits they are entitled to.
10. Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate tenant/customer records.
11. Engage in learning and development activities to increase knowledge and skills.
12. Take on shift leading responsibilities by coordinating and leading shifts and ensuring effective handovers.
13. Undertake any additional tasks or responsibilities as delegated by the team leader or contract manager.

What you’ll bring:
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or above, or experience in the social care/charity/mental health sector.
* Basic IT skills.
* Literacy and basic math skills.
* Experience working in mental health.
* Experience working in a CQC registered care setting.
* Experience delivering personal care.
