Research Engineer - Adoption & Innovation Services (Internal Applicants Only. Closing 24/11)
Do you want to work with a diverse range of innovative customers whilst developing your technical and non-technical skills? This could be the role for you!
Working within the Adoption & Innovation Services team you'll have the opportunity to support a wide variety of projects. You’ll work with diverse customers who will range from established SMEs to start-ups, scale-ups and everything in between. Making this a great way to build up your customer skills, industry contacts as well as provide support across different industrial sectors.
So, what are we looking for?
1. You are looking to broaden and develop your technical knowledge and challenge yourself with new experiences. You'll need to bring a broad open and enquiring mindset, a good base technical knowledge of composite materials and processing technologies, tooling and their manufacture. Be an innovative thinker with a keen interest in product development. Some design or analysis experience would also be beneficial, but not essential, as would CAD modelling, tooling design and experience with hand calculations.
2. You could be involved at any and potentially all stages of producing solutions for our customers. From understanding and developing the opportunity to delivering positive outcomes or practical concept demonstrators. You should be a good communicator and comfortable in questioning and understanding technical requirements, scoping solutions, developing quotations, defining concepts and delivering manufacturing and technical feasibility studies, or getting hands on to manufacture proto-type components.
3. You're a strong problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude, a self-starter and able to get stuck into complex challenges, keeping the cost-conscious customer requirements at the forefront of your ideas. You enjoy developing relationships with customers who are not just innovators within their organisations but typically the decision makers, financial controllers and often business owners who demand excellence and efficiency in delivery of solutions.
