Description Weatherford currently have exciting opportunities for experienced MPD (Managed Pressure Drilling) Field Engineers to join the team out of Aberdeen, UK on an adhoc basis. Duties & Responsibilities: Provide on the rig site engineering and office support for Managed Pressure Drilling to the client. At the discretion of product line management (such as the Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, or their designee) will be responsible for working in the shop. This will include but not limited to green tagging, preparing, and/or assisting with shipping equipment to job site. Assist as required, in the rig up, operation and maintenance of Managed Pressure Drilling equipment and data acquisition when needed and ensure all paperwork and HSE requirements are met and complied with. Prepare Underbalanced Drilling, Air Drilling or Managed Pressure Drilling feasibility studies and perform hydraulic modelling on Weatherford approved software. Interface with operations, customer representatives and other related services and contractors to ensure successful planning and operations of Managed Pressure Drilling jobs. Monitor drilling data/performance and make appropriate recommendations to ensure the MPD and clients’ objectives are safely met. Trained and Certified to operate and troubleshoot automated MPD system Responsible to manage and operate automated choke system during actual MPD operations Perform analysis of well data, monitor wells in real time that are using the MicrofluxTM Control System or any Managed Pressure Drilling application. Support on preparing operating procedures in accordance to type of operation and help to optimize P&ID’s. Perform the green tag procedures. Assist in troubleshooting of the MicrofluxTM Control system manifold components. This can include the valves, chokes, Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU), Intelligent Control Unit (ICU), sensors and more. Knows and understands Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions. Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford. Participate in safety talks with rig crew, client, and 3rd party service providers. Responsibilities can include daily report, records of events and proper database management of all well data, implement drilling programs, procedures and writing end of well reports Attend and support Hazard Operability Analysis (HAZOP), Drill and well on Paper and well planning meetings. Required to complete the competency and training requirements identified by Global and Regional Management. Complete training in order to meet the minimum HSE certification and technical requirements required perform their jobs Reports to the Well Site Supervisor or a higher-level Engineer on location. Demonstrate and apply knowledge and understanding of all matters related to the MicrofluxTM Control System (MFC) and RCD and accessories under minimal to no supervision Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. Requirements: Previous MPD (managed pressure drilling) experience is essential. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
