We have a position to start in September to work in a specialist school as a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Leeds. The role is to support the pupils 1:1 and also in small nurture groups. You will be assisting the teacher deliver core subject lessons and also alternative lessons that will engage the pupils.
You will be a positive role model to the pupils and offer a caring approach to help improve behaviour. The ideal person for the role must be comfortable in managing challenging behaviour and be able to safeguard young people effectively.
We will consider experienced TAs and also people from other industries where you may have gained experience in coaching young people and managing challenging behaviour. We will consider people full time and part time for this SEMH Teaching Assistant position. School hours are 8.30am – 3.30pm.

Experience required:
* Experience working with individuals with additional needs.
* To be confident and comfortable supporting young people who may demonstrate challenging behaviours.
* To have strong communication skills and the ability to engage young people.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* To have a flexible approach to your work, often being required to work across different departments and student age groups, on a daily basis.
* A flexible and calm approach, with a caring attitude.
