Hopscotch Corner are looking for an enthusiastic Room Leader to work within our Pre School and Out of School Club. We are a pack away setting based at Crosshills Methodist Church, Greetland where we have created strong links with the local school and community over the last 15 years. The successful candidate will be: Delivering and maintaining high levels of care Supporting staff to manage Childrens behaviour in setting through effective practice Responsible for supervising a team of Early Year Practitioners Working with Management to organise budgets Organise and deliver staff meetings Improve practice by sharing professional knowledge Ensuring all regulatory requirements are being met Ensure environment is highly stimulating Planning ahead and adjusting care and resources to meet EYFS guidelines Communicate with parents with regard to childrens wellbeing, development, etc Maintain good communication with Local Authority and Governing Bodies, local community, Church etc Working effectively with other Professional partners to support childrens needs Keeping children safe and healthy and everything that this encompasses; solid knowledge of EYFS Legal Requirements and how that impacts the room, staff and childrens development Supervising staff and assigning tasks, shift change patterns etc. Recognising training needs in staff and support to access training Co-ordinate Key Children to staff Settling sessions for new starters Mentoring staff completing various levels of education Supporting management in organising outdoor learning sessions and activities Support Management in the running of the out of school club when required Support Management in efforts to maintain full enrolment in the Pre School Essential Criteria Minimum of a Level 3 Qualification in Early Years and Childcare A good working knowledge of safeguarding and child protection including Prevent Duty Experience of working with children aged 0 - 11 An excellent understanding of the Early Years Framework and how it can be effectively delivered within an ever changing setting An excellent understanding of child development, including understanding children’s behaviour Experience of working with children with SEND and additional needs The ability to work well with others, including team members, parents/carers and any other professionals as required The ability to offer support, advice and guidance to parents and carers when appropriate Honest, reliable, flexible Experience managing a small team of Practitioners Desirable Qualifications Level 5 Qualification in Early Years and Childcare or above Closing Date: 29/11/2024 Interview Date: TBC Safer Recruitment Statement: Hopscotch Corner are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment.
