MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES To undertake routine, specific and deep cleaning tasks as detailed in the Provide Cleaning Guidelines for Community Hospitals and ensure all organisational policies, procedures and local departmental procedures are adhered to. To use cleaning as necessary to undertake the variety of cleaning tasks required and as directed by the co-ordinator. To ensure all equipment is used, cleaned and stored safely and dismantled and assembled as necessary. Ensure any defects or faults are reported immediately to the Team Leader. To empty waste bins and remove sacks of waste to various points of collection on the site in accordance with Organisations waste disposal policy. Correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used at all times. To ensure that the health and wellbeing of patients is at the centre of all activities and that all staff engage and communicate with patients as appropriate. To be responsible for taking delivery of cook/freeze food and checking quantities against delivery notes. To regenerate cook/freeze meals recording the temperatures of food prior to serving To ensure kitchen equipment, regeneration equipment and all surfaces are clean at all times To ensure food is ready to be served at the correct times for service and all waste food is discarded immediately after service and recording the wastage. To ensure the dining room is cleaned after each meal. To wash up all crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils after meals and breaks. Ensure all food items are correctly stored, ensuring strict stock rotation, especially of fridge items. To record fridge and freezer temperatures twice a day To take menu orders from patients, ensuring dietary requiremnts are observed eg allergies, textured meals. To serve beverages to patients in appropriate cup/beaker according to patients needs. Also to check if patient requires thickened fluids and requesting clinical staff to assist with addition of thickener. To undertake and statutory and mandatory training as provided by the Organisation and participate in an annual PDR, where working practices may be reviewed, and objectives set. Show willingness to pursue opportunities to develop oneself and complete additional training relevant to the role and service needs. To observe and comply with all COSHH regulations regarding use, handling and storage of all cleaning materials and fluids, in accordance with Organisations policies and procedures. To maintain a top up system for domestic products to agreed levels. To use resources efficiently and effectively. To follow and adhere to the Organisations Health and Safety Policies and instructions and be responsible for your own and others health and safety in the workplace. Maintain good communication and co-operation with all wards and departments and feeding back information and seeking advice as and when necessary to/from the Team Leader. To sign in and out at the commencement and end of each shift and ensure monthly return is filled in appropriately. Complete uniform, in accordance to the Organisations uniform policy, to be worn with identity badge visible at all times. Uniform not be worn outside of the work place and must be laundered according to Infection Prevention policies. To complete allocated work under supervision, maintain quality of own work and encourage others to do so. Be prepared to contribute to the induction and training of new staff members by showing them current cleaning systems/practices in place on the site.
