Lead Record to Report (R2R) Accountant 3 - 6 month contract / Inside IR35 Hybrid Working (2-3 days in the office) Overview: The Lead R2R Accountant is responsible for overseeing the record-to-report process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the integrity of financial statements. This role requires leadership, technical accounting skills, and a thorough understanding of financial processes. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the end-to-end record-to-report process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements. Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by team members. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for reporting and analysis. Prepare financial reports and presentations for management, highlighting key insights and variances. Manage and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and professional development. Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the R2R function. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance. Requirements: Financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Extensive experience in accounting, with a focus on the record-to-report process. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including process improvement. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to various stakeholders. Proficiency in accounting software.
