Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose
Responsible for the effective provision and operation of corrosion management systems and services to the allocated site(s), to ensure, in conjunction with the Senior Inspection Engineer, that the integrity of plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with Oceaneering and Client codes of practice, strategies and UK legislation, ensuring feedback of results to the Client Principal Integrity Engineer.
Functions
ESSENTIAL
1. Ensure compliance to Regulatory requirements and client standards
2. Support Project Manager and Senior Inspection Engineer in appropriate aspects of management of Oceaneering contract providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management
3. Assist in development and maintenance of Client integrity strategy documentation, and ensure implementation of corrosion management control strategy
4. Provide technical leadership and authority in designated corrosion engineering discipline, designating work where applicable to assistant engineers within their technical capabilities, and verify assistant engineer output
5. Undertake risk-based assessments on behalf of the client, and provide corrosion expertise to, and effectively interact with, multi-disciplinary RBA or other process groups
6. Provide input to the production and ongoing management of the asset Annual Inspection Plans and client planning process compliance for corrosion monitoring activities
7. Assist the Senior Inspection Engineer in the production and review of pipework and vessel inspection work scopes and work packs.
8. Ensure the effective application of innovative inspection and corrosion engineering applications and specialist technologies
9. Undertake investigation of anomalies and evidence of material deterioration or failure, including provision of recommendations for remediation of anomalies and failures
10. Manage and coordinate third-party failure investigations involving material and corrosion issues, in accordance with prescribed or approved failure investigation procedures
11. Provide authoritative technical assessment and interpretation of corrosion/inspection monitoring data
12. Recommend changes in corrosion criticality analyses and monitoring/inspection programs where appropriate.
13. Deliver periodic reports, corrosion status of systems, identification, and assessment of significant trends from surveys and Chemical and Corrosion Control Matrices (CCCMs)
14. Maintain appropriate level of contact with asset teams, third parties and internal disciplines to ensure an effective Corrosion Management service
15. Compilation of Quarterly and Annual Integrity Status Reporting with support from Inspection Engineers onshore and offshore
16. May very occasionally be required to visit offshore site to provide on-site technical expertise
17. Assist the Project Manager to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) deliverables and overall management of the service.

Qualifications
REQUIRED
20. Degree in Materials Engineering or similar discipline, or degree in related engineering / science discipline with relevant supplementary Materials Engineering / Corrosion training.
DESIRED
21. Chartered Engineer as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent
22. Postgraduate qualification in corrosion
23. Offshore medical, BOSIET and MIST certification
