Main duties of the job

* Facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities with childrens, encouraging social engagement and participation.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of care provided and progress, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and social workers, to ensure holistic care for residents.
* Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of residential care.
* Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations governing the provision of care and support services in childrens residential homes.

Qualifications/Skills
* NVQ Level 3 in childrens or working towards achieving NVQ level 3 in childrens.
* Two years prior experience working in a Childrens residential care setting or similar environment is advantageous.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Compassionate and empathetic approach to providing care and support to childrens/young people with diverse needs.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
* Knowledge of basic caregiving principles and techniques, including personal care and hygiene practices.
* Proficiency in basic computer skills and willingness to learn and utilize electronic documentation systems.
Working conditions
* The role involves working in a residential childrens care setting, which may include assisting residents with mobility, lifting, and transferring.
* The position may require working long days 7am-7pm, evenings 7pm-7am and weekends/bank holidays depending on the needs of the service.
