Job Summary
Come and join our bank of casual workers, who support our blood collection teams on an as and when basis. This will often be at short notice to work hours that are mutually convenient. As this role is to cover short-term gaps in our teams there is no guarantee of regular hours.
You don’t need a medical background or any qualifications, we just need your friendly, flexible approach to make our volunteer donors feel welcome, at ease and valued. You will receive training to undertake this vital role.
Main duties of the job
1. You will work with the support of the blood collection team to welcome our donors and to cover the after-donation refreshments area.
2. You will be required to handle blood bags, and a range of equipment.
3. The role will require you to be available on a bank to work variable hours and days, including evening shifts, weekends, and bank holidays with appropriate notice.
4. Blood collection takes place in a variety of locations, requiring you to undertake journeys in our vehicles or in your own vehicle for up to 2 hours.
5. You will be required to load, unload, assemble and dismantle equipment on a daily basis including heavy objects of up to 13 kgs.
