Role Description This is a 12 month fixed term contract, with potential to turn into permanent, role located in Newry for an Account Technician. The Account Technician will be responsible for performing bookkeeping, accounting, and finance tasks. Day-to-day duties include managing invoicing, maintaining accurate financial records, and communicating with clients and team members to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies. Working hours Mon - Thurs 8am - 5pm Fri 8am - 2pm Flexible working hours may be available Qualifications/Experience Qualified through IATI or an Accounting Higher Level or 5 years experience 3 years experience in a similar accounts position Experience of sage advantageous, but not essential Proficiency in Invoicing tasks Strong Communication skills both verbal and written Attention to detail and ability to work independently Experience with accounting software and tools Previous experience in a mechanical engineering environment is a plus Relevant certifications or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Responsibilities Maintaining accurate and up to date records of financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations Preparing and submitting VAT returns ensuring compliance with applicable regulations Preparing month end financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements Assisting with tax compliance, including preparing tax returns, calculating tax liabilities, and liaising with tax authorities as required Communicating with clients on a regular basis to provide updates on their financial status and answer any questions they may have Weekly processing of Payroll Maintaining accurate and up to date records of CIS/RCT Maintenance of inventory & financial reporting Benefits/Perks Pension scheme Perks Card Bonus scheme (applicable after successful probation period) Full uniform provided Funded social events for all employees throughout the year Secure, free onsite parking Free Tea, Coffee & Water
