An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Administrative Assistant within the Careers Service in the Directorate of Student Life at GCU. The newly launched Strategy 2030 provides an excellent framework for the Careers Service to work with developing the Employability of GCU Students and Graduates. The Service has 4 main sections – Careers Education, Advice and Guidance, Employer Partnerships, Employment & Skills, and Administration & Vacancies.
The role is a 0.6FTE administrative assistant based in the administration and vacancies section of the team. You will provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Careers Service and act as first line contact for internal and external telephone, email and in person enquiries to the service. All aspects of administration will be covered including diary management support, maintaining systems and records, managing and recording annual leave and sickness records, complaints and the organisation and clerking of meetings. The role holder will contribute to the provision of front of house support and information for students visiting the service and contribute to the maintenance of the resources available in the centre.
We are looking for a highly effective administrator who is educated to HNC level or equivalent. You will have excellent communication and customer service skills and be proficient in Microsoft office packages. The successful candidate will have the ability to organise their time effectively to meet deadlines and experience of financial administration. Experience of working in or an understanding of Higher Education would be advantageous.
