We are currently looking for a Technical Specialist (North East OR North West of England) to join us at our facility in Welwyn Garden City, UK.

Join our team as a Technical Specialist for Automotive Refinish, and become the go-to resource for supporting and enhancing color solutions in the automotive industry. You will be covering the South East area, working directly with a premium brand.
Key responsibilities:
1. Technical Training and Support: Provide expert guidance to body shops and dealers in the automotive industry, ensuring they are equipped to meet customer demands, including new product introductions, technical support, training programs, and value-added initiatives.
2. Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and regular meetings to address project updates, production issues, and future planning.
3. Product Expertise: Offer technical direction and assistance to customers in utilizing product lines related to Axalta & U – Pol products, becoming the go-to expert in this field.
4. Issue Resolution: Address inquiries and concerns related to the Axalta & U - Pol product lines and troubleshoot and resolve paint-related problems, offering recommendations for product, application, and process improvements.
5. Data Collection and Reporting: Collect and analyse data, including viscosity and temperature data, appearance data using advanced instruments, and film build measurements. Report results internally and to customers when necessary, and take action if results deviate from expectations.
6. Quality Enhancement Advisor: Act as an advisor to customers, supporting them in improving product quality and operational efficiency.
7. Travel and Safety: Be prepared for up to 100% domestic travel for training, development, and customer support, with occasional international travel. Maintain a strong commitment to safety in all aspects of work.
Key requirements:
8. Paint Expertise: Proficient in color knowledge, paint application, and defect identification.
9. Willingness to Travel: Must be willing to travel as required, to cover a specific area at a national level. It can potentially be the North East OR North West of England.
10. Instrument Proficiency: Familiarity with instruments such as spectroscopes.
11. Computer Skills: Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
12. Team Player: Able to work effectively in a team environment.
13. Effective Communicator: Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
14. Adaptable: Capable of working under stress and taking direction in a fast-paced environment.
15. Mix Room Knowledge: Understanding of mix room functions in the automotive industry.
16. Ancillaries: an understanding of the panel repair process including filler application
17. Urgency and Prioritization: Acts with a sense of urgency and can effectively prioritise tasks.
18. Industry Understanding: Familiarity with body shop operations and application equipment.
19. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, time management, and communication skills.
