Graduate Structural Engineer Job Overview
Work on a wide range of interesting projects across various sectors
Prepare an outline brief, visit site, review information including planning history and services
Carry out structural designs in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
Prepare technical details for Architectural design and prepare technical specifications
Liaise and attend meetings with Architects, clients, subcontractors and other professionals
Represent the business, in a professional and courteous way
Conduct site visits to assess projects and ensure adherence to design specifications.
Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
Making sure the project complies with statutory requirements
Complying to Health and Safety and CDM regs
Work towards Chartership (IStructE/ICE) with our supporGraduate Structural Engineer Job Requirements
Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
Working towards Chartered status
Minimum of 2 years'+ post-qualification experience in structural design
Capability to prepare structural designs in all conventional materials
Experience in refurbishment projects
Have a global view of structural design on a project, identifying potential problems and solutions and providing advice to clients on design options
Talent to prepare schematic structural designs based on basic architectural layouts
