If so, we could have the perfect role for you About the Team The Financial Services Group advises the government on how to promote a stable and efficient financial services sector, to deliver excellent outcomes for consumers and business, enhance the UK’s position as a global hub for financial services and support economic growth across the country. The International Policy and Partnerships team sits within HM Treasury's Financial Services group, is a friendly team of around 20 people that leads on the UK's relationship with other countries and jurisdictions where there are well-developed inter-institutional arrangements for cooperation on financial services. This includes the EU, Gibraltar, Switzerland, Singapore, Japan, Australia and the United States. We work on the development of, and policy related to regulatory tools needed to build these international relationships. About the Job In this role, you will: Plan and deliver major senior-official led forums between the UK and Advanced Asia Pacific partner jurisdictions on an annual basis. This includes co-ordinating with colleagues to agree an agenda, logistics and a public ‘joint statement’ that advances UK objectives. Prepare ministerial and senior official briefings to deliver engagements with Advanced Asia Pacific jurisdictions to maintain momentum and advance UK objectives between formal dialogues. Maintain knowledge within the branch of key relevant financial services developments in Advanced Asia Pacific jurisdictions, making good use of the FCDO overseas network to support this understanding. Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across HMT and at the Bank of England and Financial Conduct Authority and across government with FCDO and the Department for Business and Trade to ensure consistency and co-ordinated engagement with partners to support UK objectives. Develop positive and collaborative stakeholder relationships with counterparts in other jurisdictions and industry representatives. Line management for one HEO. Opportunities for matrix management of wider team members on specific projects. About You For this role you will need to be able to build and maintain effective relationships across teams, the wider Treasury, and external partners, to drive progress and deliver the department’s priorities. Lead and motivate a team and manage a full workload in a fast-paced environment, and successfully progress a number of short-term and long-term priorities at the same time. And, have a track record of advising ministers or seniors on complex policy issues, providing advice that acknowledges the challenges and charts a way forward to a successful conclusion.
