Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £95.00 - £105.00 per day

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN)? A school in Okehampton, in partnership with Teaching Personnel, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team full-time, starting immediately.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Provide tailored support to students with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
2. Work closely with class teachers and other staff to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
3. Support the development of social, emotional, and academic skills in line with individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
4. Assist with classroom activities, one-to-one interventions, and small group work as needed.
5. Help manage challenging behavior using positive behavior strategies.
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN (e.g., Autism, ADHD, or Speech and Language Needs).
2. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning and development.
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
4. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN qualifications) are desirable but not essential.
5. A willingness to undertake additional training if required.
