Applications are invited from experienced Phlebotomists to join our team providing high-quality, compassionate care to our patients. We also welcome applications from people with minimal or no Phlebotomy experience, provided they have other required attributes. All applicants, if successful, unless they are at a standard where they can work in all areas needed, will start on a Band 2 progressing to Band 3 when they are working competently in all areas.
We are looking for individuals with the skill and flexibility to support our services in Outpatients, Trust wards, and GP clinics. We currently have hours available at our Winchester site. The successful candidate should be willing to participate in the weekend rota and may be asked to cover unexpected leave/staff shortages on our other hospital sites (Basingstoke and Andover hospitals).
Main duties of the job
Caring for and collecting blood samples from patients who require tests as part of their diagnosis and treatment.
What we look for:
* Excellent patient care and compassion
* Ability to work across our sites
* Good IT Skills
Becoming a member of a highly valued and respected team that makes a real difference to our patients.
We provide a Phlebotomy service across all our sites, caring for patients on our wards, those that attend our outpatient services, and in several outlying GP surgeries. Having a blood test done is often an essential step in a patient's diagnosis or treatment, and the care we give makes a real difference to this journey.
Working for our organisation
The vision at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is to provide outstanding care for every patient. We serve a population of nearly 600,000 people across Hampshire and West Berkshire, as well as some people who access our specialist services from across the country.
Created in January 2012, the Foundation Trust prioritises the provision of exceptional, compassionate care delivered by the valued staff working in a culture of collaboration and mutual respect. HHFT employs circa 6,000 people and had a turnover of £382m in 17/18.
Four core values (CARE): Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Encourage. These are in place to support four clear objectives: provide outstanding care of patients, empower all members of staff, ensure sustainable growth, and innovate for the future.
