The Role:
1. Deliver emergency plastic surgery services, including a one-week-in-eight trauma service rotation.

Main Duties of the Job
The Plastic Surgery unit at Bradford is a sub-regional unit providing a trauma service for the patients of Bradford, Airedale, Calderdale and Huddersfield. It accepts a large number of emergency hand and plastic trauma injuries serving a population of around 1 million.
In addition, for the duration of this post, the appointee will provide support to the middle grade doctors for the provision of trauma surgery and minor local anaesthetic surgery. It is expected that the appointee would provide flexible cover for annual leave.
A commitment to audit and clinical governance and risk management is mandatory.
It is expected that the post holder will actively participate in leading the training and assessment of Junior Doctors. The duties are subject to review and may be varied according to changing requirements of the service.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
1. The post-holder will be expected to provide a range of core plastic surgery acute & elective services.
2. The post-holder will provide appropriate elective Hand and Paed Plastic Surgery services.
3. The post-holder will attend the appropriate multidisciplinary team meetings.
4. The post-holder will undertake emergency plastic surgery services over 7 days per week as per rota.
5. A commitment to the Trust’s clinical governance and risk strategy is mandatory.

Experience
1. Evidence of completing an approved period of training in Plastic Surgery.
Skills
