This is an 18-month fixed term contract/ secondment opportunity.
As a Community Resilience Support Administrator, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist administrative support to multiple teams within the Prevention and Protection sectors. This position offers you the opportunity to gain valuable exposure to various technical, regulatory, and fire safety processes. You will work in a collaborative environment, engaging with a diverse range of partners, including Local Authorities, businesses, and national fire safety organisations.
This role is based at Woodhatch, Reigate with agile working opportunities, although flexibility to work from various locations across Surrey is required.

About the Team
Surrey Fire and Rescue Service is committed to protecting communities and ensuring public safety. Our Business and Community Safety Teams play a key role in delivering prevention and protection services, and we are looking for a Community Resilience Support Administrator to help drive this important work forward.
About the Role
This is a fast-paced and varied role that requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with sensitive and regulatory materials. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Managing risk and safety information, including quality assurance, incident reporting, and the preparation of Coroner's reports and fire safety enforcement documentation
* Processing consultation correspondence related to Building Regulations, Licensing applications, and Sports Ground certificates, including the interpretation of technical documents and tracking fire safety audits
* Coordinating multi-agency engagement, liaising with Local Authorities, businesses, the National Fire Chiefs Council, and the Institute of Fire Engineers
* Organising and facilitating training events for fire safety regulators, including booking venues, arranging speakers, preparing materials, and overseeing event logistics
* Administrative and financial support, such as handling procurement, managing records, responding to Freedom of Information requests, and minute-taking
This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to public safety while developing skills in fire safety administration, risk intelligence, and partnership working.

* Experience working in a busy team environment, supporting both statutory and non-statutory duties
* Strong administrative skills, including accuracy, organisation, and the ability to meet deadlines
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with internal teams and external partners
* Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, particularly in relation to safeguarding, data protection, and vulnerable individuals
* Confidence using IT systems and databases, including managing electronic records and reports
* Knowledge of fire safety legislation and processes or a Level 3 Fire Safety qualification
