With business growing at an incredible speed, we have a new role open as a Technical Compliance Manager.
About the Role
Working in partnership with the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing food safety and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities
* Focus on food safety and quality standards on site ensuring compliance.
* Work with Quality to ensure root cause is completed on complaints and preventive measures are put in place.
* Liaise with Customers on any technical related issues and play an active part in all customer visits representing the business in a professional and ethical manner.
* Ensure we are compliant with individual customer technical and quality requirements.
* Own and drive a technical improvement plan for the site.
* Produce production/working specifications as required.
* Ensure supplier audits based on risk analysis are completed.
* Work directly with Quality Manager, production supervisors/managers and prepare regular management reports and trend analysis.
* Ensure pest control visits take place and ensure agreed recommendations of the pest control company are implemented.
* Communicate technical information in a way that meets the needs of the target audience.
* Support Product development & NPD function including line trials through to factory production.
* Co-ordinate external audits/visits to ensure positive outcomes, e.g., liaise with external bodies in relation to food safety issues e.g., DEARA, EHO, Trading Standards.
* Develop new approaches or technologies in the area of technical to ensure continuous improvement.
* Observe, act and immediately report any issues that may pose a threat to a safe working environment.
* Develop and present performance indicators for the technical function on a daily, weekly & monthly basis.
* Work with the team to ensure successful completion of the annual BRC audit.
The ideal candidate will:
* Have 2 years of Food Manufacturing / Technical experience (required).
* Have proven experience in a technical management role within the food industry.
* Hold a minimum Level 3 HACCP and Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
* Have prior experience in leading BRC audits.
* Possess strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
* Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and continuous improvement.
* Exhibit exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Show excellent IT skills - Excel, Word, and SharePoint.

* Ability to commute/relocate: Blackpool: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Experience:
* Food industry: 2 years (required).
* Internal audits: 2 years (required).
