Why this job matters
Our Broadband Teams provide the service that millions of BT, EE and Plusnet consumers and BT Business customers use every day. This includes Network capacity management, content distribution, safety and security features, connectivity around your home and office and a growing number of connectivity services.
Although not limited to Broadband Devices, the role will mostly focus on the Devices domain covering Hubs and Wi-Fi Extenders together with the middleware, applications and services that run on the devices. We have 9
million hubs and regularly launch new variants and enhancements. Connectivity devices are developing rapidly from not only a technology perspective, but also the advancement of software features on these devices.
As Senior Manager - Programme Delivery, you will influence how the delivery or multiple deliveries are managed. To thrive, you’ll demonstrate accountability, predictability and early problem management. You’ll be part of delivering the BB strategy to be undisputed #1.
We work with a cross functional agile, product-based team, called a Tribe where the Tribe is responsible for both in-life operations and delivering new changes. The Programme Manager will work closely with the Tribe (to deliver the new capabilities), collaborate with partner teams (like Digital sales journeys) and manage the interface with the Customer Facing Business Units (who manage the go-to-market and sell the products).
What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities
* Outcomes - Delivering business outcomes whilst managing the programme and expectations of scope, cost, resources, time and governance controls.
* Planning – End to end planning of the programme or multiple projects
* Collaboration - Working with an integrated agile team to deliver together with other BT teams & suppliers.
* Risk & Issue Management – actively manage R&I with appropriate escalations. You’ll also be improving the “problem area” for future projects.
* Budget Management and up to date cost forecasting
* Review – Challenging the norm and consistently improving how we deliver by regular retrospectives throughout the programme
* Stakeholder management - Engage stakeholders regularly, managing expectations and change
Skills required for the job
Required:
* Agile and waterfall fluent
* Leadership - provide effective leadership to the virtual teams
* Planning Skills – organize projects & tasks in the right order, to hit the outcome at the right time
* Negotiation skills - work with others to shape the programme, proactively solve conflict situations with problem-solving, negotiation and open comms
* Inspiring communicator - You deliver inspiring messages and considering different perspectives
* Influence – influence the approach for a better outcome, challenging the status quo.
Desirable:
* Industry recognised Programme & PM Qualification
* Scrum Master and/or Product Owner Qualification
Experience you’d be expected to have
Required:
* Delivered large to extra- large programmes and projects in a technology environment
* Managed bespoke developed software and “off the shelf software” integration deliveries
* Managed deliveries with 3rd parties
* Agile, Waterfall and a mix of both
* Managed stakeholders to ‘MD’ level

Desirable:
* Broadband Hubs, Extenders & Software Features
* Worked on mass market products at scale
* Knowledge of sales and customer service systems and processes in telecoms
