Family Support & Protection Social Worker
Location: South Wales (Flexible locations within the region)Contract Type: Full-time, ContractSalary: Competitive rates (DOE)
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for experienced Family Support & Protection Social Workers across the South Wales region. This role offers an opportunity to work with a range of local authorities, supporting children and families through critical child protection, care planning, and court work.
As a Social Worker in this role, you'll be part of a dynamic team focused on improving outcomes for vulnerable children and their families. This role offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility to work both from home and in the office, with manageable caseloads and ongoing support from management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Child Protection & Safeguarding: Conduct assessments, Section 47 investigations, and risk assessments to safeguard children and promote their well being.
* Court Work: Prepare and present case reports for family and care proceedings in court.
* Care Planning & Support: Develop, implement, and review care plans, working closely with children, families, and multi-agency teams.
* Direct Work with Children & Families: Conduct direct work with children and families to assess needs, deliver interventions, and ensure children voices are heard.
* Case Management: Manage a caseload effectively, keeping accurate records and case documentation in line with statutory requirements.
Hybrid Working Setup:
This role offers flexible hybrid working, allowing a mix of office-based and home working, depending on the local authority's policies and your caseload requirements. This setup ensures a work-life balance while maintaining close connections with your team and clients.
Key Requirements:
* Social Care Wales Registration (required for practice in Wales)
* 2+ years of experience in statutory children services, particularly in child protection, court work, and family support
* A strong understanding of safeguarding and relevant child protection legislation
* Excellent skills in report writing, communication, and case management
* Ability to work independently and manage a reasonable caseload
* A driving license and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential)
