Your Role
The Road Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for new business sales and the development of customer relationships within the road logistics business unit. You will be assigned a sales area and tasked with identifying and generating a pipeline of customers who move volumes between the UK and the EU. The primary function of the role is to sell the core products of the road logistics business unit. You will be accountable for developing and/or maintaining revenue streams from both new and existing business, in line with the objectives set by management.
Your Responsibilities
1. Create and execute strategic sales plans to drive business growth and market penetration in the European road logistics sector.
2. Identify and target potential customers requiring road logistics solutions for cargo shipments to Europe.
3. Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
4. Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and the competitive landscape in the road logistics industry.
5. Achieve and exceed the sales targets and KPIs set by the company.
6. Prepare and present compelling business proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
7. Work closely with internal teams, including operations and procurement, to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
8. Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and market feedback to senior management.
Your Skills and Experiences
1. A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in sales within the logistics industry, preferably in road logistics.
2. Strong understanding of the European road logistics market.
3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
4. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
5. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office.
6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Fluent in English (mandatory).
