In this role, you will lead the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies to support new business development and enhance our brand presence across multiple channels. The Role
Main duties:
* Line management of 2-3 individuals (digital, marketing, PR, events co-ordinators)
* Member of the Operational Management Team (OMT) and responsible for driving achievement of the team’s KPIs
* Development of a marketing calendar for each financial year, but being agile as requirements develop or change.
* Owner of the marketing budget and PO / cost centre management.
* Monitoring SLAs for marketing activity.
* Create and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that align with and help achieve business goals and objectives.
* Identify the need for, develop and oversee marketing campaigns, ensuring they are on-brand, effective, and the most effective use of budget.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to inform strategic planning, working closely with Business Development Managers and SLT.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with media contacts, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.
* Oversee the creation and distribution of press releases, media pitches, and other PR materials.
* Ensure consistent and effective messaging across all marketing and communication channels.
* Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various platforms, including website, social media, email, and print.
* Lead team’s collaboration with internal colleagues and partners, to ensure cohesive brand storytelling and to plan, execute, and analyse multi-channel marketing campaigns.
* Utilise data and analytics to measure campaign performance and make data-driven decisions.
* Optimise campaigns to improve ROI and achieve business objectives.
* Work with relations and support team and business systems to enhance and maintain data quality for marketing permissions.
* Develop and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all marketing materials.
* Monitor and manage the company’s brand reputation, responsively as required. Includes owning communications for product recalls or other quality / H&S concerns, working closely with the Support Team Leader and own team.
* Website creation, management, and development.
* Client portal enhancement and maintenance (The Pass)
* SEO & SEM management and optimisation.
* Manage and grow company social channels.
* Oversee and support brand presence at events and webinars – arranging opportunities and attending events as required.
* Champion sustainability initiatives and support net zero target.
The Candidate
Essential requirements:
* Previous experience at a management level in marketing, having managed at least 2 direct reports
* Strong project management and organisation skills
* Tech-savvy
* Varied marketing experience rather than one discipline – social media, events, campaign management, digital etc
* A strong grasp of data management for marketing purposes
* B2B experience, in a commercial environment
* Excellent attention to detail and high standards
* A pragmatic and energetic approach to getting work done.
* Knowledge of the food / catering sector – or a passion for food!
* An understanding of procurement
* Experience of using AI to good effect in marketing
* An understanding of SEO/SEM and website development
* Good photography skills – even if on a mobile phone!
* PowerPoint experience and a confident presenting style
* A willingness to attend events and speak to prospects and clients
* Previous exposure to sales or supporting business development
* Knowledge of Salesforce, Mailchimp, In Design and Canva
* An interest in sustainability.
The Contract
Hours: Full-time (but we are open to discussions around number of hours/days). Our full-time hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:45 – 17:15 (with an early finish on Fridays at 16:15).
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum FTE plus the opportunity to earn circa 10% company performance-related bonus. Our competitive benefits package includes 33 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays) plus an additional day of annual leave for each year of service up to 5 years/38 days pro rata.
Work location: Office based but with some flexibility to work from home up to 40% of the time.
